A note about packaging

Limiting our waste production is a core value of our business. engrained started out with a refill business model and will always favour refills of jars and containers whenever possible. For the purpose of online sales however, we package our products in kraft tin tie bags, lined with PLA, which - other than the tin tie - are compostable in industrial facilities. We realise that there is still a long way to go before these facilities are available to the general public, and are therefore always on the lookout for a better solution to package our products in for retail and dispatch. Unfortunately, PLA only degrades in very specific conditions and home composting is unlikely to do the job, so we recommend reusing your bags if possible and disposing of them in the general household waste stream.
